Menstrual Health & Hygiene

Menstrual health and hygiene is a core area of Girls & Goals Initiative’s work. We combine menstrual health education, access to menstrual products, school and community-based interventions, practical skills, and advocacy to help girls and women manage menstruation with dignity and without unnecessary barriers to education and participation.

Key Initiatives

Project PADBank

A community-based menstrual product access model that establishes PadBanks in schools and communities, complemented by anonymous question boxes, menstrual health education, reusable-pad training, and community/PTA ownership to promote sustainability.

Annual Menstrual Health Campaign

Our annual campaign around Menstrual Hygiene Day, addressing different dimensions of menstrual health each year, including menstrual awareness, school absenteeism, community support, body positivity, and menstrual pain management.

Beyond Pain

A menstrual pain-management initiative focused on helping girls better understand and manage menstrual pain, while examining gaps in school-based support and advocating for more responsive approaches.

Menstrual Health & School Outreach

School-based education that equips students with accurate information about menstruation, menstrual hygiene, body changes, myths, and healthy menstrual practices.

Reusable Menstrual Product & Livelihood Hubs

Training women and girls, including those in displaced and underserved communities, to produce reusable menstrual products for personal use, community access, and livelihood opportunities.
