Girls’ Leadership, Empowerment & Education

Girls & Goals Initiative supports girls and young people to build the knowledge, skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to participate meaningfully in their communities and shape their futures. Our work combines leadership development, economic empowerment, education access, and supportive opportunities for girls to learn, lead, and thrive.

Key Initiatives

Girls’ Leadership & Youth Empowerment

We create opportunities for girls and young people to develop leadership skills, understand their agency, and participate in decisions that affect their lives and communities.

Low-Capital Skills & Economic Empowerment

We equip girls and young women with practical, low-cost skills they can use to start small income-generating activities while remaining in school.

The First Seat

A youth leadership and civic engagement initiative that creates opportunities for students to engage with conversations around women’s representation and leadership through school-based parliamentary and debate experiences.

Girl Child Leadership Programs

Through our International Day of the Girl Child programming and other initiatives, we engage girls around leadership, confidence, participation and the barriers that affect their ability to lead.

Back to School Project

Our education-support initiative helps children in underserved and grassroots communities return to school with essential resources, including uniforms, school bags, books and other learning materials, as well as targeted support for school fees and library resources.

Boys as Allies for Gender Equality

We engage boys and young men in conversations around gender equality and shared leadership, helping them understand that effective leadership is not gendered and that women and girls should be supported to participate and lead.
